A little over a week ago, I sent an e-mail to my favorite current fantasy author, Mark Lawrence. I included a copy of Architect and though I didn’t expect him to reply, I hoped he would at least see it. I was amazed when the next day, he sent me an e-mail back and encouraged me to submit my manuscript to his Self Published Fantasy Blog Off. I barely made the deadline, but I am officially in!
The contest features 300 self-published fantasy novels and the details can be found on Mark Lawrence’s blog. I will be reviewed by Booknest which seems like a point in my favor, as they seem to gravitate towards grittier, more action heavy selections. The first phase of the contest will last around 5 months and I will update if I make it through to the next phase.

His trilogy consisting of Prince of Thorns, King of Thorns, and Emperor of Thorns is an absolute masterpiece of violence, emotion, and storytelling.
